The Alkonost (Bird of Russian Myth) is a beautiful bird with a woman's head that sings mystical songs of happiness and protection. The Sea Green base is the perfect color for this creature of myth and sea, reflecting the fluid, deep nature of its power.
This jacket is crafted using the traditional Jamdani weaving technique on a sea green/turquoise fabric blend of fine cotton and half silk. The front displays a vertical repeating motif that resembles "mala phool" (or tulips) with intricate golden zari (metallic thread) work. The back includes prominent Chevron shapes in the center and along the bottom, flanked by other smaller floral and geometric motifs, all rendered in golden zari. Thin vertical lines of pink thread are integrated to add a subtle pop of color and structure to the Jamdani weave.
