Endangered Region Featured: Bangshi River
In the past, the Bangshi River was famous for its fish. Now, it has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other insects. Once an indispensable part of everyday life for the people of Savar, it becomes impossible to breathe for its stench during the dry season. Local politics and misuse of the waterbody by the textile washing factories are the main culprits of its despondent demise.
